Spring break reunites two longtime best friends Efren Ruiz and Latin singing star Ricardo Garibay

A brush with danger...

Remnants of hurricane Emily... I  spotted a funnel cloud over Tempe during the height of this storm as two strong storm cells converged over the Tempe area on July 24th...

It was startling to watch the movement of this funnel cloud as it got closer to the ground. At the same time I scrambled for camera and position...

This ''funnel cloud'' basically went directly over my house (traveling pretty quickly from southeast to northwest) headed towards the heart of downtown Tempe...

Note from photographer: The following video is very short because, unfortunately, my camera battery died as I was filming. I was impressed that I was able to take as many photos as I did...PLUS the movie !!! I'm glad because right after the film was recorded I ran to the upstairs  front balcony and saw it travel towards downtown Tempe before it disappeared back into the clouds...(Amateur video tip #1: Always keep your camera battery charged  and keep a spare handy!!!)

A brush with fame...

Long time best friend and Latin singing sensation Ricardo Garibay vacationed in Arizona over the 4th of July weekend. He currently resides in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Ricardo recently met with public relations "guru" David Schmidt and Telemundo KDRX TV 56  "foxy" news anchor Mariela Gomez de Ell in an attempt to introduce Garibay's musical career into Arizona, Florida, California and Texas.

Things look very promising for this rising musical star. CD's should be released very shortly and projects are in the works to bring his vocal talent to various musical venues. We continue to wish him the very best...
