How we work....

CDS is a streamlined and budget conscious operation. Unlike our competitors, our process doesn’t include different corporate structure layers including job architects, project managers, job captains and draftsmen complicating the process, interrupting any momentum and increasing the potential for errors due to miscommunications. At CDS, we don’t hand off your project to a series of inexperienced draftsmen with very little creativity or architectural/construction knowledge. 

As our client, you will work with one point of contact within CDS. Your project will be handled by a senior expert, highly qualified and knowledgeable professional, who’s sole focus is YOUR project, to get the job done right and delivered within budget and on time. CDS is a full service shop, and we can assist with any stage of a project, from the preliminary design and construction document stage and all the way through Construction Management through the Certificate of Occupancy. We can tackle any portion of a project and professionally manage it for you, at an affordable price.

Regardless of the role we play, our practice hinges on a refined ability to effectively communicate with our clients. We stand behind the quality and detail of our work and we have the track record to back it up.

Q: How do you charge for your services?
CDS offers competitive pricing. Our fee is based on a per square foot basis (total under roof) and depending on degree of difficulty. Occasionally, we will execute smaller projects on an hourly rate if the client prefers. Each project is different. Call us for a free quote and to discuss your project.

Q: What steps do you take to ensure the drawings will look like they came from our office?
We provide ACAD files, including plot files and pen weight sets, fonts and layer configurations. We normally work with ScottBlue or Thomas Reprographics for our blueprinting needs.

Q: How can we see the progress you’re making?
CDS provides clients with PDF files as required at various stages of completion or when files are ready for review and redlining. We constantly check with the client to ensure we’re moving forward on the right path at all times. We also provide clients complete progress uploading current PDF's on Google Docs website for review even if the clients are out of the State or Country.

Q: How do you transfer drawings back and forth?
We can email, upload files to your FTP site or send them through our Internet service for you to download.

Q: What do your blueprints include?
We provide all the necessary structural and architectural plans as required by your local Jurisdiction to obtain a building permit and to allow estimating and construction to occur. Plans sets include Civil engineering, Structural engineering, Electrical engineering, Mechanical plans and Plumbing isometrics (gas if required).

Q: What are the charges for changes?
Minor changes such as non-structural modifications, tweaking dimensions and in-process changes such as alterations in redline are included in the baseline project fee. Other design changes (involving the change to a structural element) would be reviewed by engineers and invoiced on an hourly basis.

Q: How can we make sure that you will do a good job for us ?
The consultants and sub-contractors that we work with are all professionals, licensed in the State of Arizona and very talented in their craft. We have all worked together for many years and achieved a high level of communication and quality control. We also have plenty of referrals available to you upon your request.

 Q: What do you mean by Very Competitive Estimates ?
CDS has established professional working relationships with many Contractors, Sub-Contractors and Material Suppliers around the Valley. Our consistency has developed into a system of quality and value. We encourage our clients to get estimates from other sources so they can confirm that we provide the best service at the best price.
