Framing begins !!!

After the first day 1/3 of the exterior frame walls were erected.

At the same time, the connection to the sewer tap was established. And backfilling began.

Backfilling will be finished today.

Digging continues attempting to locate the sewer line.

First wave of lumber arrives. All walls are marked on the slab ready for framing tomorrow.

Finally located the sewer line. However the elevation of the line is too shallow. Further digging was required.

Digging out from under the street attempting to find a successful connection point. It was 20 ft. deep and 5'-0'' under the sidewalk.

Concrete slab poured day !!!

The entire house slab will be poured today.

After a three month delay, due to soil bearing capacity issues, construction resumed...

Soon to come after the Christmas break, will be the concrete stem forms and inspection.

Next step is  compaction of soil to minimum 95% or 1,500 p.s.i. bearing capacity (certified).

Instructions left behind in chalk for waterproofing crew and perimeter drain extent. Backfilling by early next week.

Chalk marks missing rebar for future spa wall. In Marco's absence, I went around leaving little "post-its" everywhere.

Remaining work to be performed tomorrow, marked on the wall for workers tomorrow. The front walls were chalked as well.

Work can now begin to finish the retaining walls. A couple inspections still pending.

During a meeting with Rutilio, we agreed that these rebar are incorrectly placed. They need to be reversed to match the retaining wall in the front.

Rebar for the rear retaining wall, in correct position, but footing depth may be too shallow. Looks more than 5 inches. Please verify...

Forms up at rear retaining wall. Ready for rebar placement. After rebar is in place, an inspection will be called in.
